The safety of passengers is of paramount importance to everyone at Wrexham & Shropshire.
At the Station
Here is some safety advice for when on and around the stations served by Wrexham & Shropshire:
- Please allow plenty of time to board your train.
- Do not run for your train.
- Do keep your eyes open for any objects that may be on the floor in and around the station.
- Do mind the gap when boarding and disembarking the train.
- Do be extra vigilant during adverse weather conditions.
- Do not leave luggage near doorways, stairways or barriers.
- Do not stand too close to the platform edge.
- If the platform has a yellow line, please stand behind it and keep all items of luggage behind it too.
- Do not leave luggage unattended. Unattended items may be removed and destroyed. If you see any luggage left unattended, please inform a member of staff immediately. If the station is unstaffed, please use the passenger help points available on the platform.
- If you witness Railway Crime - please report it: 0800 40 50 40 (call free, 24hrs everyday).
On Trains
Our trains are designed to put your safety first. Here is some safety advice for when on board any of our trains:
- Please keep items of belongings within sight at all times and remember to ensure you take all of our belongings with you when leaving the train.
- Please keep gangways clear of obstructions.
- If you witness Railway Crime - please report it: 0800 40 50 40 (call free, 24hrs everyday).
- If a fire breaks out, walk calmly to the next carriage and alert a member of the on-board team. Don't attempt to collect your luggage from the racks.
- In most emergency situations, it is safest to remain on board the train and listen for announcements from train crew or emergency services. Do not leave the train unless instructed otherwise.
If you are in immediate danger and evacuation of the train is necessary:
- Do not step on any rail.
- Look and listen for approaching trains - remember that other trains may still be running.
- Check for debris, wires and steep drops.
- Get off the track as quickly as possible.
